It's been a while since my last post, but I am glad that I finally can write again.
There were some up and downs, but generally it is going well with me. I am thankful.
There are a lot of challenges in my life, and it's all at the same time: emigrating, having a relationship and soon getting married, recovering from my illness, going to work in a foreign country in a foreign language. Sometimes there have been hard times, because I got stressed by one of those things. I have noticed that I took a lot of risks. However, I did everything together with Jesus. You have it hard, but you know you are in real safe hands.
I like England now. There has been sun in the last few days, and that makes me so happy. I always get loads of energy from the sun and I want to go out of the house and I want do active things. I want to be in nature because nature gives me peace. I am really glad the most dark time of the year is almost over and the spring is coming. I cannot wait to do more hiking, running and rollerskating. Some crazy adventures.
I am learning at the moment to be really thankful for everything that is going well, because nothing is for granted. For example, I have now a job in England, already for a month, and it goes so well. I had to do some adaptations because work was quite intense. I decided to work 4 days, instead of 5 days, and I also took a break in the middle of the day. I also have to take an hours rest in the day and sleep very good nights. Now I notice that I can handle it, instead of surviving.
I work now as an Office Administrator by Elysium, an organisation which provides living support for people with a disability. It is almost the same kind of work that I did in the Netherlands, because I studied Human Resource Management to degree level. I also have a heart for people with a disability and when I am ready for it I would love to work with them as well. I am very happy with my work, I love the people and the organisation. It is something that I am thankful for, even when I have to make adaptations.
I have now already been living for 3 months in England, not a very short time anymore. It is so funny that when I visit the Netherlands and there is nice weather, it feels like a warm vacation resort. A place where I can go to, away from every day life in England. I was finding the Netherlands in the past a little dull, but it seems nice to live there later again when me and Ben are ready for it.
I'm keeping it short this time, but I would like to do an update soon!
Have good days and blessings!
Love, Arianne
